North Miami Beach Residents Upsets Over Strip Club Name
The residents emphasize that they are not discriminating against gay men, they just don’t like the name
The name of a North Miami Beach strip club is causing quite an uproar with neighborhood residents.
The club, called Swinging Richards, is a male strip club for gay men, and the attorney for the owners says other locations in country are very successful.
The club on Biscayne Blvd and 172nd Street has changed hands a number of times but residents say this time it’s a first.

Some North Miami Beach residents say they don’t like the name, while others say any strip club in the neighborhood is not good. But they emphasize that they are not discriminating against gay men, they just don’t like the name.

PALMETTO, Fla. – A man and woman were hospitalized after an early morning shooting at a Manatee County strip club.
Deputies said a fight broke out in the parking lot at Pandora’s Box on U.S. Highway 41 around 2:45 a.m.
The man was hit twice. He was taken to Bayfront Medical center in St. Petersburg where he was listed in stable condition. The woman was hit once and taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital where she was also listed in stable condition.
According to witnesses, a third person was hit, but she left the scene with only a superficial wound.
Two suspects fled the scene, according to deputies.
The investigation is ongoing.

Deputies went to Miller’s home on Tuesday afternoon and found his body in the living room. They also found his abandoned pickup near 50th Street and Broadway Avenue in Tampa.
Deputies arrested Wilson at the Tampa 8 motel, 4350 E. Old Columbus Drive.
In June, Tampa police arrested Wilson on a charge of burglary of an unoccupied dwelling. She told police that she smashed a window to get inside a man’s home so she could get the $60 he owed her for sexual favors, an arrest report states. She pleaded guilty to attempted burglary charge and was sentenced to 24 months’ probation.
In October 2010, she pleaded guilty and was found guilty of prostitution and drug paraphernalia. She was sentenced to 30 days in jail.

Clearwater, FL — The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a local man at a gentleman’s club in Clearwater early this morning.
PCSO deputies, responding to a call at 2:26 a.m. Thursday of a disturbance at the 24 Karat Gentleman’s Club on 16717 U.S. 19 N. in Clearwater, arrived to find Cecil E. Chapman of St. Petersburg, an employee of the club, holding a man down on the ground in the parking lot.
When deputies handcuffed the man, Jayson Zalewski, they realized he was not breathing. Zalewski, 34, of 8756 Quail Road in Seminole, was taken by ambulance to Largo Medical Center where he later died at 3:36 a.m.
According to the PCSO’s Robbery/Homocide Unit detectives, witnesses say Zalewski became disorderly and was told by employees to leave the club. Once outside, Zalewski tried to pick a fight with another patron. Chapman, 40, stepped in while other employees called police.

Man dies after disturbance outside Clearwater strip club

CLEARWATER — The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death outside a strip club early Thursday morning.
Deputies received a disturbance call at the 24 Karat Gentlemen’s Club, 16717 U.S. 19 N, about 2:30 a.m.
In the parking lot, they found a club employee holding down an unidentified man in his 30s down, who deputies were told was the cause of the disturbance.
As they were handcuffing him, they realized he was unresponsive and not breathing. Deputies started CPR and he was taken to Largo Medical Center, where he died at 3:36 a.m.
Witnesses told deputies that the man became disorderly in the club and was told to leave. Once he left, he took off his jacket, as if he wanted to fight, deputies said. Another patron was attempting to calm the man down when the man tried to punch him.

Manhunt ends when authorities find wanted pair in Tampa hotel

TAMPA — A pimp set up for work in a Howard Johnson Hotel amid the strip clubs and pawn shops of Dale Mabry Highway.
In Room 228, the pimp kept his 8-month-old daughter and a bag of marijuana. In Room 129, men lured through the Internet visited a prostitute.
On Monday evening, local and federal law officers raided the rooms and busted the pair. But the arrests were for far more than pimping and prostitution.
They marked the culmination of a yearlong manhunt, including a segment on America’s Most Wanted, for two fugitives wanted for a killing in Georgia.
A tip to the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Atlanta led investigators to Emma Hope Grant, 27, and Derrick Paul Holmes, 29.

ORLANDO – The list of attractions that make Orlando one of the leading tourism sites in the world is lengthy.
There are numerous amusement parks, hotels with various styles and themes for any occasion, and many other options for family and adult entertainment.
Now the city has also raised the stakes as a sports destination by beginning to upgrade its sports facilities, starting with the home of its most prized team, the NBA’s Orlando Magic, while simultaneously creating a state-of-the-art concert venue.
On Oct. 1, the city and Magic organization officially opened its new $380 million dollar building, the Amway Center. The 875,000 square foot facility, which is nearly triple the size of the team’s former playing facility, the Amway Arena (367,000 square feet).

Human trafficking is a worldwide problem that usually takes the form of forced labor, domestic servitude or forced prostitution, the most common of the three. In the United States, it’s estimated that anywhere from a couple of thousand to several thousand people a year are victims of human trafficking, Couvertier said.
